Trova il frutto turns gambling’s promise into a criterion of recognition that subjects the identity of the three women to the uncertain logic of verification. In the «Scratch & Win» series, Zampogna does not simply represent a ticket or the possibility of a prize. He enlarges its grammar until it becomes the environment within which human presence acquires meaning. The title’s invitation retains the lightness of a pastime, yet introduces a command that directs the gaze toward the search for the correct combination. The group portrait is thus contaminated by a media mythology in which seeing means choosing, comparing and awaiting confirmation.

The basket of fruit, enlarged and rendered in saturated colours, occupies the foreground like a combination to be deciphered and interrupts the continuity of the bodies. Red and black drips, however, spoil its promise of abundance, turning the possible prize into unstable matter. Beyond this threshold, the greyscale female group emerges within a broken yellow field that does not construct a space, but displays the figures as images already selected and circulated. Positioned beside the bodies, the words «Trova il Frutto» do more than name the game. They transfer its commercial imperative onto the people, making it unclear what must actually be identified and which presence might count as an answer.

The work brings the contamination between «real reality» and «media reality» into a scene of apparently ordinary proximity. The three women remain recognisable as individuals, but the visual device treats them alongside the fruit, colours and text as elements available for combinatory reading. Compared with other works in the series, the mediocre catharsis of winning does not coincide here with money alone. It affects the very desire to assign a stable identity to images. What remains is a verification without resolution, in which the game promises to distinguish the winning sign while rendering people, commodities and symbols of fortune equivalent.
